Fundraiser - Steve Cooper (RIP) of Crossroads
From my friend Michele. This will start at FIVE on Saturday. ----- I can only tell you so far that it is out in Helotes at Villareal's Ice House this Saturday. There WERE several bands that were going to perform, but now it is just Crossroads, so... could you please ask any musicians that would like to come out and "jam" for a good cause--to please do! Any genre! There will be a dj out there (with Karaoke--if wanted) from the company "DJJD". They have donated as much time as is needed or wanted for the entire evening. He will be playing music prior to Crossroads performing which I believe is set to start at 730p.m. There will be a silent auction that evening, and "possibly" some food. We are still working out some of those rather large details. I will let you know as soon as I know or hear more Kelly. THANK YOU SO SO SO SO SO SO MUCH!!!!!!!!! http://www.myspace.com/crossroadsrockssanantonio |

Thanks for the post Kelly, just a note: There is now a second band: Rook, and we are talking with another. Plus there will be other musicians as well. More live music. The final hour will be a jam session with whoever wants to play. George Crossroads & 13 Six |

Thanks Kelly, The event was a pretty big success, and the music was great. Rook played for a little over an hour, and then Crossroads played a couple of sets. Then Rook came back up with us, and we had a great Jam together. Two drums, two basses, two guitars. My piano, and Erics Harp. It was great. Between the food sales, the silent auction, and the straight on donations, we raised over $1200.00 for Matt, Steve's youngest son. Now, he doesn't have to worry about the bills, and can stay in his house until he graduates HS in May, and his College AP courses in June. He already has a Job lined up at Lockheed, so with this helping him over the hump, his life will stay on track even though he still misses his Dad very much. Thanks to everyone who helped, both large and small. |
