Need Help
I am a contractor in the IT field, software development, and support, and some web stuff. It's has been a one man office for quite a few years. I currently am looking for an apprentice, if you will, to help me in keeping up with things. This is a part time thing at first, flexible hours, possible to work from home after a while. Pay will be little at first, until I can bill for your time, so that would be up to your abilities. If you can spell and define SQL, ASP, Dot Net, that would be a start. If you know them well, then the billing part would come a lot faster. If you have any experience with VB, C# that would be a big help. Mostly at first, I need someone that could learn the software, and handle support and testing, and help keep me on track (I'm getting a little drifty in my middle age). Handle database issues (SQL SERVER). I'm over 50 now, been doing this for most of the last 30 years and getting tired of this, and want to be able to play music more. I would love to be able to impart my experience and skills to a younger, more energetic person looking for a something to do. In a few years, I want the roles to reverse, and I become the part timer/consultant to help you out when needed. I am posting here, because most of the brain logic I need is carried by musicians. And this is such an ideal day gig for a musician, that if I can help someone else keep playing music, then I have made the world a better place. I'm a renegade that can not abide the corporate world, so that's why I've been a hired gun for the last 14 years. No dress code, no alarm clock, small money to start, but will grow with your abilities to do more and more. Ideal for a musician looking to supplement the tiny amount of income most of us generate playing music. Note: I practice at the office as well, so you would have to put up with my keys at times. Second note: My office is right next door to a new recording studio going in. George Crossroads and 13 Six |

Well it's been a week, and no response, so I will go outside the 'family'. It's a bummer, cause I would have loved to help out a fellow musician while they were helping me. George Crossroads 13 Six |

Good deal George. Good to hear...hope it pans out. I gotta say I'm really disappointed with no one posting their gigs for this weekend It just a couple of seconds for that to be done, whereas it takes several hours for myself or Rowan... I just don't get it... Oh well, another time. |

Thanks Kelly, it didn't pan out, but at least a response was better than none. Still looking though. I will keep Crossroads on the schedule. |
