Hi there,
I am concerned about two leopard geckos and one veiled chameleon, which are owned by a friend of mine.
I have spoken to him on several occasions about cleaning,handling, and feeding them; he keeps telling me to mind my own bissness, and I am worried for there safty.
He does not clean, he barly feeds them, and he shakes them around, he hangs the veiled upside down and swings it around while telling us that the veiled enjoys it, because its eyes are closed...
I have told him for a fact that they only close their eyes when they are seriously stressed, and he wont listen to me, I have also told him the more stress they are under the shorter their life is...
A couple of times I have almost been brought to tears, because I know there is nothing that I can do... I have even hit him a couple of times to show that my friends and I do not find it funny, yet he still does things like THROW his geckos (who are two years old and are so underdeveloped, because of malnourishment) into the air and then catch them, everytime he does it they pee or poo and he laughs thinking that it is funny... It just ****** me off so much, and I am sorry about my language it is just it herts me that someone would do that to an animal...
I am so enthused about animals(I am South African in Canada now)and I know the value of an animals life and am hoping to become a Herptalogist, I am fifteen going into last year of highschool after summer brake. I know that I am writing from along way away, but I was looking for some forums in Canada but they havent returned my emails. My friend is 16 so it is not like he is a child he understands right from wrong.
