low carbs after pregnancy
I've just had a baby 10 days ago and want to start getting back into shape asap as I have 3 stone to lose!! Does anyone know when it is safe to start low carbing after pregnancy - I did the atkins diet once a few years ago but would really like to try low carb eating |

Re: low carbs after pregnancy
Sally Congratulations on the arrival of your new baby! In Dr. Atkins’ New Diet Revolution/on the Atkins website, the advice is that the Lifetime Maintenance phase is suitable for pregnant women, and that the weight-loss phases of Atkins are not appropriate for pregnant or lactating women. So I take this to mean that it is OK to start the weight loss phase of Atkins after you have stopped feeding your baby. Up until that point, you should follow the Lifetime Maintenance phase. Please note that I am not a medical person, this is just my understanding of what Dr Atkins advises in his book/on his website. Best low carbing wishes Jackie |
