Atkins is hard
Hi, I'm trying Atkins again and its extrememly difficult. I can't seem to stay on the diet. I know what the benefits are but why is it so hard this time? The induction phase is the worst. I hate my body and want to loose weight but for whatever reason i can't give up the carbs. If anyone has any ideas please let me know! |

Re: Atkins is hard
Stephanie Don't give up! When I was having the same problems I made sure I had some low carb treats (such as cocoa powder mixed with cream cheese and sweetener) to give me a 'chocolate fix' and keep me from having something carby that would kick me out of ketosis. If you're finding it difficult to give up the carbs, it may be that you're 'addicted' to the few you're still having. Once you get past that, and ketosis kicks in, you should hopefully not be getting cravings, or feeling hungry. Being in ketosis also brings a sort of 'high' for many people - me included. You may find it helpful to get the 'Easy Guide to Low Carb / Low GI Diets' and the 'Low Carb / Low GI Cookbook' (the Easy Guide is free if you get the Cookbook at the moment). Ensuring you don't get bored with your foods is definitely key to staying on the diet, in my opinion. You can check these out at www.lowcarbiseasy.com/cookbook.htm. Best of luck - keep going, it's worth it in the end Regards Jackie |
