Twister Week at Falmouth

I pass on the following from Christopher Hoare, who with Debbie & Roger Wright-Morris is organising the Twister meet during Falmouth Week, which will include the Twister Trophy.

"The returns seem to indicate 18 boats in all - mainly local and with a core of 6 entering all the Twister races during Falmouth Week with a few more boats choosing to do just the occasional race: 9 doing the Falmouth Classics and about a dozen doing the Cruise events.

Prizes go to single-handers; no spinnaker; the old; the young; and are designed to encourage the cruising as well as the racing skipper"

Looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible on the water.

Re: Twister Week at Falmouth

During Falmouth week whilst I intend to enter the Classics, work commitments are likely to prevent me from some of the other racing although I will endeavour to be involved as much as possible. I will however be taking photographs from a RIB of as many Twisters as possible both moving and stationary plus crew if required during afternoons etc.

I know how difficult it is to obtain good action shots of your own boat. All pictures will be digital and capable of being mailed to individual emails as well as the main Twister site. If individuals would like their own boat featured (for either their own use or the main site ) please let me know. I would also be happy to take out crew/Skippers/hangers on or whatever to photo their own boats should they so wish.

Please feel free to ring to pre-arrange (weather permitting) 01326 212220 (wk) 01326 373766 (hm) 07968 730 430 (mob). Fuels expensive but beer is still just a bit ahead!

Regards

Richard.

Re: Twister Week at Falmouth

It was great to see so many Twisters and their supporters in Falmouth. Many exciting things happened and many photos were taken by Louise's skipper Richard. We are also featured on the official photographer's site www.photolounge.co.uk.(search individual boat names) It was great fun taking part in this fantastic sailing week. Thank you everyone for making such a huge effort to join us in Falmouth.
What other dates should we have in our diary?
Happy sail home. Debbie wm

Re: Twister Week at Falmouth

Although Kai didn't venture from her moorings for the racing, we were able to meet many other Twister owners at the St Mawes Sailing Club dinner and had a most convivial evening. Huge congratulations to Debbie (Morwenna) and Christopher (Green Helix) for organising an excellent week. I would also like to extend my sincerest thanks to Jon & Clare (Acrobat) for a superb race on Thursday in 20-25knts of wind. Until then I'd never been on a real Twister built from trees - she is beautiful and a credit to Clare & Jon.

If anyone was disapointed with their race results, fear not - if we had managed to get Kai onto a start line you may rest assured, your placing would have been one better!! If I recall correctly, the TCA race program alluded to 'Twister racing means keeping the sun in the cockpit.....' (or words to that effect). Don't believe a word of it - the only gentlemanly aspect that I could make out was that the red flags weren't ready to be deployed!!
