that map, is one that I found inside. It only looks drawn because I had to make the building lines darker to show up on my scanner. Those buildings on the side of the self help place were apart of byberry. I believe they were torn down. Atleast many of them. Q-102 used to hold their haunted house in on of those. The garages are torn down. The Laundry building is still up. Though I'm not sure if you can still get to the catacombs from the laundry building anymore. There were rumors that a brick wall was put up. But I haven't been able to confirm this yet.
Thanks for the great things about my site.

Hey DE, I've been on your site several times, and I found it to be very helpful. I appreciate the detailed map you drew, but I have a question...how come every map I see of Byberry does not outline the blgs. that lie directly alongside Southhampton Rd, as if you're driving towards The Blvd? These bldgs are on the right, and they are right behind the Self-Help facility. I know they're not a part of that organization, because these bldgs are all boarded up, like the others. On one map I saw it labled these bldgs, (if that's what the artist meant) "Garages" and "Laundry". There's several of them, all in a line, and no map I've seen represents them properly, that's why I'm not sure if this one I"m talking about means these bldgs or not.
And to Spooky-I, too, would like to read about other abandoned asylums, but I'm really happy you put this site up, it's the only one that has a message board, and I've enjoyed the submissions. When I finally get over there, I will definitely submit my observations, and the tale I will have to tell, I'm sure.

Byberry has been left for dead for almost 12 years now. It is a vitual maze of rooms, hallways, and catacombs. it is also illegal to trasspess. So as you can imagine every teenager and many adults go into byberry almost every day. Many of these people are not too kind to the decrepit lady. So finding a room or area that is not graffittied or damaged is very rare indeed. But there are places that still have records and such. The old infirmory is one of them. Check in the basement. Leading from the catacombs. And of course check all the closets. I've found a map on the floor that someone stepped on, on the floor of a closet. The map is here http://www.geocities.com/darkelf121/realmap.html
along with nursing books, and mental health books. Happy hunting.

I've been scouring the Net forever it seems, trying to find info on Byberry. I'm doing research on the place, for personal reasons, and I am planning to visit there before summer is over. I heard that there are some buildings that are not as disturbed as others. Does anyone know which ones these would be? I'm hoping to find rooms that still have stuff in them, like furniture, anything that was left over when the place was closed down. I'm especially looking for old documents. Any info? Thanx.

Hey Spooky cool board. I was actually in Byberry last night (July 26) and it was pretty un eventfull. Except for the fact that we just missed security (those jeeps are soo quiet) and a pentagram with a bowl of garlic and some fluid, that was about it. We also saw officer Mcgraff at the corner store on Southhampton road. I got a good look at him. He's fat and he smokes, so theres no way he's catching me!
