Big 4 Valves & Valve Guides

Hi,
looking for valves & guides for the WD Big 4 engine.
Any ideas on where to get them. I believe they are different to the 16H.
I looked up Alpha bearings site, they listed all I need, but are out of stock and will only make large quantities.....?????
Help appreciated
Bob

Re: Big 4 Valves & Valve Guides

My first thought was G&S Valves. Their stuff is good, but I'm not sure about their on-line catalogue. The valves for the 16H and Big 4 are the same length but the 1938 engine (as per WD Big 4) had different collet locations from the earlier engine (as WD16H).

It might be worth having a word with Russell Motors. They stock G&S and may well have guides as well. At least guides can be made, if they can't be found.

Have the ordering numbers somewhere, will look later on.

Re: Big 4 Valves & Valve Guides

Here's the G&S info; B4 valves, reference for these is V144 Head dia 1.625 stem dia 0.342 and length 5.042 inches. £9.88 ea inlet and exh. same.

The V144 is not listed as such in their online catalog, just email, and ask.
