Big 4 rear axle drawings & wheel bearing sizes

Hi all,

I have just acquired a Big 4 frame.

I have wheels and a sprocket / brake drum with splined stub axle, but no axle parts and bearing parts.

Does anyone have drawings of the parts that make up the rear axle assembly so I can at least make them up. Can someone give me the bearing sizes. Are they the same bearings as used in the 16H? One double row ball and one single row ball....??

Anyone got spare bits they'd like to sell?

If the same wheel is used on the front as is used on the rear, what is the axle / spacer / bearing makeup that goes on the front.

I have the exploded view of the rear assembly as in the download manuals, but no dimensions.

Thanks

Bob

Cheers,

PS replace xxx with ike on the email above!

Re: Big 4 rear axle drawings & wheel bearing sizes

Hi,

I'm rebuilding a Norton 16H and the 4 wheels bearings size are :

out 40mm x in 17mm x 12mm (skf 6203 easy to find)

out 40mm x 17mm x 16mm (skf 62203)

Hope this helps.
