Hi folks, I am still looking for a speedo cable for my 16H. When searching the net I find cables with a length of 142 cm. But I cannot believe that it has to be that long. Sorry for this somehow stupid question, my bike is not in my office and thus I am not able to identify the correct length. Would be great if someone could provide more clarity on this topic. Cheers! martin
The original Norton cables were 25" long.
In your case you need the one with the square end inner cable top end and knurled nut at the top of outer cable.
JJ Cables in UK can certainly help you, likely there are other sources.
Hi Rob,
thanks for the info. 25 inch seems to be the right length - my inner cable has a length of 65,5 cm, the outer shell is slighty shorter.
Actually I did not find the JJ cables website. Speedo cables shown at Feked are longer. Is there any other supplier?
Instead of contacting the cableman I decided to ask a German manufacturer of cables. I've sent the orig. cable to them and will receive an offer during the course of this week.
Meanwhile I got the new cable from the manufacturer www.bowdenzugmanufaktur.de. They charged 75 Euros and reused the fittings for the front wheel and the Smiths speedo.
