Just back from another trip to France, 971 miles without mishaps, in the company of 2 other WD16H riders.
The bikes might loose bits but they do keep running.
Most we lost was oil, mine a bit more than the others. 4 liters is relatively much but the engine is quite worn out and needs a new piston or rebore.
The same piston was subject to lossing aluminium onto the cyclinder wall due to lack of oil 3 years ago. Rings were melted solid in the grooves and needed to be broken out. After cleaning up the cylinder/piston and new piston rings it has done at least 1000 miles before starting this last run.
