Dual Practitioner Opportunity: Sports Therapist & Osteopath

For Your Information:

The British School of Osteopathy (BSO) has validated its Masters of Science (MSc) in Osteopathy (pre-registration) course for qualified physiotherapists, chiropractors, sports therapists and medical practitioners.

The MSc in Osteopathy (pre-registration) is a two-year full time programme designed to give applicants the opportunity to achieve the required competence profile for autonomous osteopathic practice whilst further developing their pre-existing knowledge and skills in the area of musculoskeletal care. The programme fulfills the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) academic requirements to enable graduating students to apply for registration as an osteopath in the UK.

Please note that the School's receipt of a satisfactory DBS Check is a condition of acceptance onto the MSc course..

Successful completion of this programme will enable you to apply for registration with the GOsC to practice in the UK.

The MSc starts in September 2014 and runs through to August every year, it is a postgraduate course therefore students will not be entitled for student finance, however there are some options available for funding, please refer here:
https://www.gov.uk/funding-for-postgraduate-study

The course is full time; attendance requirements are for 8 hours a week in clinical practice (at the BSO) and 10-15 hours of contact time with teaching staff during the week. It is expected that students will need to undertake 5-10 hours of self directed learning a week in addition to completion of assessments. Therefore, weekly commitment would be approximately 23-33 hours a week.

o Tuition fees for UK/EU students are £9,000 per annum
