How many Military and ex-Military guys on this forum?

Hey everyone,

Just wondering how many Military and ex-Military guys/gals use this forum? I am in the Military (out in a few years time), am qualified as a sports massage practitioner (full SMA member) and would like to hear from anyone who could share their experiences on leaving the Forces and setting up in sports therapy.

Many thanks, Mark.

Re: How many Military and ex-Military guys on this forum?

Hi Mark!
I am ex-military and i also work for Active Health Group - the leading and most pro-active Sports Therapy company in the UK.
We have approximately 60 ex-military graduates each year and all take to Sports Therapy extremely well and plenty have their own clinics and are doing well within the industry.
I have found working in this industry very accomadating and adaptable. I have taken my experience as a PTI in the Army and have incorporated the skills learnt at Active Health Group into becoming a competent clinical Sports Therapist.
To some it all up mate...i never saw a life outside the military but now i could not want for more and the earning potential has exceeded my expectation!
take care mate anymore questions give me a shout or contact on 01274 722424

Re: How many Military and ex-Military guys on this forum?

Thanks Kev,

I'm in the RAF (an aircraft engineer = I fix planes!) and as mentioned above I don't leave the forces for another few years yet, however I have been involved in sport massage for about 2 years now and see this (sports massage/therapy) as my future. Therefore I am trying to get as much experience whilst I am still in the RAF as possible and get as many courses under my belt as possible (time and finances permitting of course!).

I am doing one of Kesh Patel's (Origin Health) courses this weekend, which I'm really looking forward to. I am interested in doing the accelerated sports therapy course with you guys, but Bradford (and Manchester) is a long way from my location in Cardiff and accomodation would be a problem. It's a shame you have no plans on coming down South, I'd definately be in then.

Good to hear from you and good luck with everything.

Mark.
