A couple of weeks ago my guitar player got us a gig @ this place and agreed that we were to play there last night for so much $(I will not get into that). When my keyboard player and I got to TRYST there was still furniture set up and out guitar player went out of his way and borrowed a PA for this event. When we get there my guitar player get a phone call from the owner and told him "Oh we were only wanting it get a quote for future shows at our venue". Apparently there was suppose to be a DJ performing there and the keyboard player stayed to hang out with his friends and what happened NO DJ either. I mean we had a lot of people going to check out the band and the place and they could've done well in bar sales. But because of their lies I will never ever play there or hang out at this place either. I'm just wanted to vent and tell fellow musicians. BEWARE OF CLUB TRYST.

This is the kind of information musicians need to know. And apparently the kind of club musicians need to avoid!

Not that Joel would care because all Musicians should look out for each other and not hate on each other.

Never heard of the place. Wheres it at? In SA?

It's on 1604 & Bandera. In that shopping center where the Silverado movie theater is at. John our singer was telling me about a DJ that he booked for a certain amount of $ and they only gave him 3/4 of what they had agreed on and the lady that gave the DJ the check said "Just take the check and I'll give the rest to John". Of course you know John as well as I do that he was not gonna have any of that. I he went off on this Lady. Then the lady comes up with "Why don't I give you the $$ that we agreed on and I never have to see you in my life ever". and of course John said "That's the best solution that you have ever came up with. I play at places better that this POS anyway" He got his money and has never set foot there ever again. Makes you wonder how Chris Lopez does it to play there every Monday?

We played there a couple of times and there were fights. The 2nd time the owner blamed us for slow sales...the place was packed until some hoodrats broke out in a thug rumble...it emptied out immediately and we played for the walls and the bar staff. Then she tried to cut our pay at the end of the night. Again...why we stick to certain places...
