First get the latest version - this will fix 95% of the illegal moves problem you may have gotten before now.
An "illegal move", simply put means that for some reason the Convertor has picked the wrong starting player. Keep in mind, the Zone format does nothing in its files to determine which player started. This means the convertor must look at some other clue - hits, doubles on the first move, how the game ended, etc.
The latest version does a very good job of determining this absolutely, and on very short games where are no clues, it does a very good job of guessing the right player.
Of course, this assumes that the file it is converting is accurate. Occassionaly I find that the zone saves the moves wrong - it will duplicate a move which is just enough to confuse the convertor into picking the wrong starting player. The result is you will see, usually, a number of illegal plays.
Unfortunately, the only solution right now is to manually go in and edit the file by removing the extra move.
Hopefully, I will be able to work out someway to correct the dicelog automatically. We will see...
Meanwhile, let me show you a sample of the problem I am talking about. The first listing is what was saved from the Zone, the second listing is the corrected listing. See if you can see what went wrong...
