Iles Chagos Islands: Forum

  1. Les lettres anonymes ne seront pas publiées.

Lettres:

In this section, all the letters coming from Chagossians or other people wanting to speak about the Chagossian problem will be most welcome. However there are some guidelines to follow :

  1. Anonymous letters will not be published.
  2. The authors are held responsible for their writings.
  3. The webmaster has the full right to keep or delete letters, no complaints please.
  4. No letter with abusive content or insults will be accepted. In the same way, if differences in opinion are welcome, all letters favouring division among Chagossians will not be kept. We are in favour of the unity of all Chagossians and any unpacking of dirty linen will be done elsewhere.
  5. The letters with an electronic format (e-mail,...) will have the highest priority, the typed letters will come next, and manuscripts and all letters having to be introduced manually into this forum will receive the lowest priority. This work will be carried out when time is available.

the islanders should be allowed to return

Britian And America say they support freedom and the rights of people to live in freedom.
They also claim to support the democratic process, Well today the high court once again ruled the islanders should be returned. And once again Tony Blairs government has shown what it thinks of english law, and the democratic process, they are going to appeal. because his undemocractic use of an order in council did not work out the way he wanted in 2000. again the highest court in the land has thrown out the governments arguement and once again Labour government has shown its not interested in democratic law. well its about time the chagos islanders fought back. english newspapers should be filled with the story, the more the public learn the more support will grow. todays people are sick of government lies.
the order in council used by the blair government in 2000 is a good place to start, as blair is fighting a war on the basis of democracy and yet heads a government who by passed parliment using the most undemocratic process so that the british people would not take issue with the chagos islanders plight. and the governments idea of selling the island to america as that is what has happened.
