I have recently stopped the Lighterlife diet and decided to go onto the Atkins with my husband and son as we could all do with loosing weight. I really do not know what to eat. I have ben doing eggs & bacon for breakfast, chichen salad for lunch with mayo and the evening meals are pretty much the same as lunch, meat with salad and mayo.
I have looked at the meal plan for the first 14 days and it has flatbead, cereal and fruit incorporated into it. I am so scared to eat anything other than meat, eggs, mayo, butter (to cook eggs and meat) and lettuce. I did have some cauliflower which I pureed with creem and butter but felt very guilty eating it.
Can you please advise me if I am following the diet correctly. And yes we are drinking loads of water and and reduced our coffee/tea intake
What meal plan did you look at? Not sure it's the Atkins one, or even my one (available from my website at http://www.lowcarbiseasy.com/menuplan.htm), because you mention cereal and fruit - these aren't on either of these plans, at least not in the first 14 days!
Have you looked at my summary of the Atkins Diet and what you can eat at my LowCarbisEasy website at http://www.lowcarbiseasy.com/dietplans.htm?
The cauliflower with cream and butter sounds fine!
You're probably being stricter than you need to be, but in order to understand how you can relax things and expand what you're eating, you need to understand how and why low carb diets work. You may find it helpful to read the free guides on my LowCarbisEasy website at http://www.lowcarbiseasy.com.
