Regal Zonophone 2
Hi Robert, this cd was reissued by RPM part of Cherry Red in 2008 and i think is still easily available, its a nice album but i've saw comparisons to the wonderful World Of Oz album, but i don't know who come up with that as to my ears its nothing like it,Paper Bubble to my ears is more in a poppy folk vein, which will come as no surprise as it was produced and played on by members of the fine Strawbs, particularly Dave Cousins, you also get an informative booklet with photos and story of the album and how it was made, which you dont get downloading stuff from the net,if you get it enjoy it as its an album i am pretty fond off.
hi robert you could download from amazon site fairly cheaply..

Robert,
It's good to hear you are supporting our struggling Independent record labels. Keep up the good work, hopefully you can help put a few more out of business in the next 12 months.
Dave,
Most artists from the 1960's are dead or unaccounted for. The record label pockets 100% of it.
And what do you care? Do you own a record label?
While you're mad at me, what about the bloggers who post that music online for trolls to download. Everybody's doing it, I'm the only one to admit it.
Alot of the music is not available to buy anyways.
Good luck finding "Complex" "The Way We Feel" '71 U.K. psych in any record store online or otherwise.
Robert.
A reissue came out on Wooden Hill/Tenth Planet and can be found to purchase at numerous sites with a two second Google search
http://www.heyday-mo.com/catalog/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=54
Nick at Heyday and David at Wooden Hill, two good blokes who should be supported
Many of the artists may have passed away, but they have families who would benefit from any royalties due
so dave if i buy download from amazon does any of that cash go to artistes/families same as if i buy a second hand cd from a seller on amazon /ebay none of that goes to artistes and blogs are few and far between these days.
i agree heyday and a few others need support there are not many indie retailers left nearest one to me is skegness i think..
robert is a very nice guy maybe a private email from you explaining your veiws would have been a bit more gentlemanly

I use to buy CD's from Midnight Records in New York City many years ago, and they were selling CD-R bootlegs for $20 a CD (there own pressing "Pontiac Records")...believe it or not.
I don't know if they still do that. Midnight advertises in Ugly Things 'zine.
Sorry Phil, you're right I was kind of rude.
Money is tight nowadays, I'm on a budget.[:-|
To put a different slant on this subject,i think its unfortunate that readily available cds reissues are being copied for free on the internet, companies like Revola and other small indies depend on the custom and revenue to survive and for that they can keep reissuing music legally in the best possible sound source available with liners and stuff,i just think its wrong to undermine the small indies by copying easily available cds, take for example Paper Bubble, thats easily available and got a reissue only a few yearback,i know that some folks cant afford to buy all the reissues available and the only way they can probably listen and get some of those is by copying it from the net,as Robert said hes NOT bought a cd for a long time,i assume he copies it all from the net?but surely buying the occassional cd would at least pay the little indies some revenues which is better than none at all!!
Yes, Robert, I understand that money is tight as I feel it too but it makes sense to at least make the effort to buy the odd cd now and again to allow small labels to keep reissuing these lost treasures. I would suggest that many of these artists aren't all dead and could benefit from what royalties they might receive. Not being judgemental, but it's good to try and keep a balance between free and paid-for music just to suport the efforts of these indie labels to keep these wonderful sounds alive.
sooo if a album/track is unavailable to buy but is available to download is that ok?
i will say for myself i do occasionally listern to a download myself before buying money is tight so why waste it on buying rubbish that is spun out as psyche etc when in reality its not..i do tend to buy more now than than download but i do buy from amazon/ebay and alot of the time its second hand..so the artiste gets nowt im afraid..maybe someone ought to start a campaign to get amazon /ebay etc to set a levy on second hand music to pay to artistes? everyone s a winner then

It´s a big difference rel a comp w/25 diff artists vs. a cd with one group/artist, 100% legally that is.
To try to get in touch with so many to be incl on a comp, especially when we´re talking about obscure acts who rel mostly one 45 on many times a small lbl, is practically impossible, i know(blink blink).
Most of the legal tender comps have stuff from the same lbl which makes it easier of course but if the songs are scattered around it´s way more difficult task.
Paying mechanical rights is what you can do but i´m sure that 99% of that money does NOT reach the actual artists but stays in the pockets of ncb(nordic copyright bureau)
The artists/groups who has contacted me over the years has 100% being just happy to see their song included and asked for a free copy of that certain cd.
Hopefully i can cont releasing this series but it´s getting tuffer and tuffer ´cause of all the downloads.
Wow i didn´t mention Fading Yellow once, darn there i did.
A thief complaining about downloads? Priceless.
