Excuse the dirty fingernails, but (as you've possibly heard me brag here before) I can pull tatties outta the DRY earth bare-handed.

(I think in a previous existence I may have pulled living hearts out of chest at Mayan gaffs and wotnots.)

Wallace, that Burning Candle LP is only OK, unless you really dig ELP.

Re: Albums crying out for a CD release.

Burning Candle - pretty much ELP clones from what I recall and very average.

Beyond- eh.

Went through a US 'Ameriprog' phase back in the 90s. Bought everything I could- Quantum, Tranceform, Universe, MacArthur, Albatross, Thisoness, White Wing, Tetelestai, Red Shift etc, etc..

Now I hardly listen to the stuff.

Frock -'Silkie' is a UK 70s FolkRock private pressing in the vein of Fairport Convention or Beggars Hill. Reputed to be one of the very best examples of the genre and highly regarded musically. Very rare.

Minor Birds -same is one of the rare LPs on the Midas label. I suspect it's one that I'd rather buy a CD reissue of than fork over the goldmine to get an original. Anyway, UK 70s Folk, likely mostly Trad. Along with Folkal Point and Oldest Proffession, (no typo) it is a very costly release on the collectors market.
You will note that I didn't put Folkal Point on my list. That's because I've heard it and think it's way over-hyped. Not the least bit Psych-Folk or witchy, and even has some Country influence on a couple of tracks. I'd buy it if reissued, but I'd never spring for an original.

A Fleeting Glance -same. UK early 70s Prog private pressing. Said to be very good. Only one cataloged on RYM, and I don't know who that owner is. I first became aware of it in one of the Pokora books. Suffice to say that very few have surfaced thus far.

Bachelor's Gate -same UK Folk of a very high standard. Late 70s or early 80s, and may have been on Airship. I could find out for sure, but I'm too lazy to get up and look. Anyway, I've heard it, and it's very good.

Swordedge -same UK FolkRock private pressing from early 80s. Very very good and very expensive.

Courtyard Music Group -same Reported to be the best example of UK Psych-Folk and related to Killy Country.

Sandalwood -'Changeling' Very rare UK hippie Folk.

Skint -same Listed in Pokora as Progressive/Rock, but his genre designations tend to be spotty. Only one acetate found so far, iirc. Late 70s UK.

All of these are exceedingly rare and very costly. Without a reissue, few will hear these particular titles, barring a future warehouse find or somesuch.

Yeah, if you want an ELP clone, better to go after the 2 albums by Japan's Social Tension.

I had ST's 'Macbethia' at one time, the original Jap disc. Quill's 'Sursum Corda' is a big culprit and I never cared for the early Triumvirat records for the same reasons.

Jurgen is a keys god.

If you dont care for early Triumverat then there is no hope for you in all the Kingdom of Prog.

You just dont have an ear for ANY prog.(Or at least keys-dominated prog).
Its as sad as that.

Re: Albums crying out for a CD release.

Thanks Moe.
I will put five of those on my want-to-listen list.

....
Your on Psychedelica group.
Its gone rather dead of late.

Why dont you birdog the forum and invite some good posters (like Mr. James & Haron) over here?

I'd do it, but Im banned.

Weren't you promoting Starcastle at one time, or something like that?

Re: Albums crying out for a CD release.

Yes, I worked for Starcastle from 1999 to 2005. Ran the web site, Sunsinger Records, etc...

I just don't care for their version of ELP. I like the later albums, but 'Spartacus' you can have.

I've written for a couple prog web sites and with my gig with Starcastle and other prog-related things, I wouldn't say I don't have an ear for prog, just the opposite...

By the way, I reviewed the Eclectic Mouse LP at the Glory Daze Classic rock web site:

Re: Albums crying out for a CD release.

Nice one Eric Eclectic Mouse LP is very good

Re: Albums crying out for a CD release.

A few years back a Toronto used record store owner was recommending this Eclectic Mouse to me.
I didnt care for the plain coverart and the word "trombone" on the back cover was the straw that broke the penguin's back.

When it comes to hornrock 70s its unfortunate that by far the path most followed was that of Blood Sweat and Tears.
The path less-travelled was The Flock.

YES The Kitchen Cinq really deserves a cd rel.
Sogmusobil i haven´t heard but i know that this Swe early 70´s LP is supposed to be trippy.

Yes, it is "out there", very sloppy and stoned, including one poem Betongbarn 'Concrete child'. There are two dull bluesy numbers, but otherwise I like this when I want to hear some seventies trash. Here are some samples:
Arabic in the Morning & Lost Identity
Tjackvalsen 'Smack Waltz'
