Regal Zonophone 2
Sorry to start a new post, but i find it interesting whos listening to what.heres whats been spinning in my cd player.
Howlin Wolf-The Howlin Wolf album
Phantasia-Phantasia(Excellent album from "72,well tripped out)
Jethro Tull-This was dble cd edition
Mixed Up Minds comp
Jasper-Liberation( i read this album was a boring bluesy album somewhere,ok it has the blues but theres so much going on in other tracks,i found it made for a good listen)
Yma Sumac-Miracles(Easy Loungey Yma Sumac goes psych, the music on this album is good but her screeching voice can be irritating)
The Eyes-The Arrival(Great mod/freakbeaty tracks with a huge nod to the "65 Who sound and a proto psych feeling on some tracks)
Watching Hurricane coverage with the sound turned down with Matthew Fisher's 1981 album 'Strange Days' playing in the background.
Continium 'Autumn Grass' superb clarty recording (on the right system anyway)
Started with side 2 of Inflammable Material - Stiff Little Fingers, moved from there to Stooges 1st album, thence to Teenage Shutdown - Jump, Jive & Harmonize comp of US garage (rowdy and exhilarating), now Kongos. Lazy Sunday Afternoon? Absolutely!
rave up with the yardbirds.
buffalo springfield.
buffalo springfield again.
OSMOSIS-SAME
Yeah, Mr Time, its RCA label.
Can't in truth say this is getting my groove on to any meaningful extent.
This sort of music demands a few listens before it gears in, but in this case I dont think repeated listening will benefit much.
ARALLI-DEMON FROM THE ANCIENT WORLD black death metal excellent sunday afternoon stuff
Right now - Dave Morgan & Richard Tandy: Earthrise Special Edition (on Rock Legacy Records)...
This just arrived this past week (pre-ordered in mid-July, so's I got me a signed copy), and for an old ELO fan this is a revelation. Very much 'Time' era ELO... hell, all that's missing from this is Jeff Lynne's voice - although I have absolutely no complaints about Morgan's vocals, he is a very fine singer in his own right.
Wonderful, wonderful stuff. Perfect way to end the weekend.
Other than the first ELO lp, I find their output unlistenable.
ELO suck cock.
The Move do not.
Some Hank Williams from Greatest hits and the Boxed Set
Lindisfarne- Nicely out of Tune (US version)
Steve Hillage-Fish Rising
Beach Boys-Holland

.....

Where can I sample McCartney II?? (unreleased 3rd (double lp)
Tonight:
CHICAGO Chicago Transit Authority (on CBS) a classic, alternating brass rock to - more interesting to me - psichy tracks
CACTUS 'ot 'n' sweaty (on ATCO) mostly passable US hard rock, partly live
THE CORRIES Scottish love Songs (on Fontana) scottish folk duo, nothing special apart from 1-2 tracks
HOLLIES Sing Hollies (on Parlophone) 1970 stilish pop from the good old Hollies
THE FAMILY ELAN Stare of Dawn (on Locust) rather experimental piece from this never-heard-before ecletic Glaswegian, Chris Hiadowsky
Bernardo
John Innes
very chilled stuff
NUGGETS VOL 3 'eavy man

PM
Wow! Thanks for the tip Paul... Amanda Lavender is going to be stuck in my head for sometime to come.
It seems that The Dark Delights ep is only available on limited edition vinyl and there's only a few copies left... I hope these tracks will appear on a full release whenever that may be. These guys just may be my new favourite band...

GARY USHER - THE ASTROLOGY ALBUM
Just got this psychploitation oddity FOR FREE (along with some banged-up origional early Stones lps on Leutonian press).
David Crosby, Chad Stuart and Sagitarius band members.
Lotta spoken word crap.
Im pretty sure this got misfiled into the freebies box because coverart looks like a children's record.

Dark/sleepy-death lyrics with male & female vocalists which have no business singing.

For someone who constantly plugs prog here I daresay some of you may have noticed I post very little by way of prog.
Well here we have
EMPEROR - SAME (US '77) private press prog that few are aware of
Although rightly speaking much of this is rather lame straight rock.
Proggy bits are lite alla Symphonic Slam.
Duo electric guitars, Jimmehs.
