Early Yes!!Somethings Coming dbl cd and other waffling

Just been watching a documentary on the history of Yes,which made me pull out and play both cds of their BBC Sessions covering 1969-70,this is a fascinating artefact featuring the original line up with Peter Banks still being in the band and it being Pre Steve Howe.Theres some really good prog/psych crossover moments to my ears,i must also say i thoroughly enjoy the self titled debut and the second album "time and a word".I also have the first album which features Steve Howe"The Yes album",to be truthful i've not played that as much as i have the original groups recordings, and i have never heard any other albums by them, after "The Yes Album".Am i missing out ??
Anyone else enjoy those early recordings of Yes??

Go straight to "Tales From Topographic Oceans".

Everyone hates it.

This can only be a good thing.

Awesome 2lp set. (But if you cant handle longish tracks....)

I have the double CD 'Something Coming' BBC Recordings 1969-70..Some very intresting stuff on it.

I like Yes up to & including 'Fragile'

You MUST listen to/have 'Fragile' and 'Close to the edge', while you'd better stay away from 'Tales from...' and 'Yessongs' if you can't stand the very long, tour de force albums!

Thanks for the recommendations guys,i'll certainly get a hold of "Fragile"and"Close to the edge"cds,i don't mind long tracks at all,but i cant get the likes of Dave Emersons show off type virtuoso stuff,in fact im not a big fan of ELP full stop(gulp i hope that doesnt upset anyone).I see both those cds are going for a decent price on Amazon. So i may treat myself to both on payday!!

You mean Keith Emerson.
I have to say i'm a big ELP fan at heart upto & including 'Brain Salad Surgery' but it's very rare i listern to them these days.

ps: Stuart go for the Remastered/Expanded versions of the YES CD's they sound really good.

Re: Early Yes!!Somethings Coming dbl cd and other waffling
