Just wondered what this album from Outsiders front man is like,i have read its nothing like the material made by the fine Outsiders.I see its been reissued on boot label Axis, just curious really.
I've not played the CDR I have of it in some years, but no, it's not the Outsiders. It's more sentimental stuff, orchestrated balladry a lot of it. Some of the songs are quite nice, but not exciting. It's unmistakingly Wally Tax's voice you hear, all very wistful s usual but in a much more conventional musical setting.
Some of the Tax Free songs I've heard were pretty good, but I haven't heard his solo stuff.

Re: Wally Tax-Love-In
As Paul says, a pretty unmemorable LP. I've picked up a dirt cheap copy somewhere and was very disappointed when I played it, not at all like the Outsiders. Very soft pop as Wally was apparently a fan of Mamas and Papas and wanted to do a soft pop LP. No psych and not a fuzz guitar to be heard. I haven't listened to it for about 10 years though...
