Yeah, sad news. Most "psych" moment probably "Someday" by Head West on Circus Days comp, but he had great stuff on "Future Games", "Bare Trees" and "Mystery to Me". The song "Hypnotized" wasn't "psych", but had a great 70's spacey vibe.

He had some fine songs on Heroes Are Hard To Find, too. Never a great lyricist, I always liked his couplet on "Silver Heels": If I could sing like Paul McCartney/Get funky like Etta James/I'd never change.
That's a real tragedy. I can't say I was crazy about all of his stuff but he had talent and had, not- insignificant, success during his career.I wonder what could have driven him to go out like that. RIP.

One article mentioned spinal surgery and not wanting to be an invalid or a burden to people, but that sounded like speculation. It mentioned he was married but with no kids.
