Just played the 24 track "Watch your Step"comp from Tony Jackson Group,its excellent indeedy,and more enjoyable than The Searchers in my opinion,some groovy tracks with loud guitar,organ grooves and brass,it covers the years 64-67,so theres a few different sounds to be had.Recommended if you can track down the Sanctuary cd from 2004!!
Stuart, I totally agree with you. I bought the CD when it came out and was surprised how good it was. Well worth tracking down.
The Searchers were a big influence on bands like The Byrds with their use of 12 string guitars. Loved their sound and also quite liked their later 70s Sire recordings.
