Just been playing this new release on Guerssen. Very nice too. I've only heard the Kissing Spell release (under the name of 'Axe') once a good number of years ago so can't really compare. the liners for this release though are Paul Cross's 2005 review and interview with guitarist Tony Barford.
The Guerssen issue is a 5 track, 27 minute long LP from the original aceate (only 12 originals pressed, half of which skipped!). I like all five songs, but the three on Side 1 are especialyl good. Barford's guitar is fluid, heavy and eastern sounding and Vivienne's vocals have a very pure tone (think Trees for instance).
The LP comes with a CD that has the same album on it along with a silent 8mm video filmed at a park in Northampton from a 1970 Summer festival. This has two tracks from the acetate dubbed on.
Apparently this is the first time these tracks have been released in their original form and it's a nice addition to any British prog-psych collection. I think it is also avialble (or will be) as a stand-lone CD as well.
