I just listen and write it out, been doing it for years playing in bands.
Before the interweb, if the lyrics weren't included with the album it was the only way. Play / pause / rewind... and hope you get it right!
Unfortunately, I'm not native language, I'm Italian, so I don't understand words of english language songs. I think the reissue of psych for collector should include lyrics also, but this is very rare, it's ridiculous: why do the labels sell a cd around the multilanguage world without to include song's lyrics?
Although it's probably off, here's what I've deciphered after many, many spins:
Blue-eyed Buffalo Billycan
His best friend is, his faithfull is his
Baked bean prophet in high, nice as pie
All wrapped up in a package in his wet dream
All he ever wanted to do was love _______
All he ever wanted to do was love her
All he ever wanted to do was love _______
All he ever wanted to do was love...
Loose livin' woman, she done lost her man
Don't give a damn
'Cause these days she's getting her kicks
She's changed her ways, now she's teaching kids the bible every Sunday
Ooooh, look it there, she's really getting her kicks 'cause ______
Mmmm, look it there, she's really getting her kicks 'cause ______
All she ever wanted to do was love _______
All she ever wanted to do was love...
Blue-eyed Buffalo Billy can't control his mind
With a six shooting dime
He trigger-happy, finger-snappy
And his lazy lost loving woman
She done seen me come in a Cadillac car
Up to the Whiskey Bar where electric guitars go far
All I ever wanted to do was love _______
All I ever wanted to do was love
All I ever wanted to do was love _______
All I ever wanted to do was love
All I ever wanted to do...
