Cynthia Cinnamon by The Poachers

Hi, I was wondering if any of you would be so kind as to have a listen to this wee popsike/toytown pop tune that I wrote about 15 years ago and offer your opinions, good or bad? Many thanks :)

Hi Steve. It certainly fits the description you gave it. I actually listened to some of the other Signal Eleven stuff there and particularly liked If You Love Somebody.

Hi Steve

Cynthia Cinnamon –
Nice twee English whimsical song, I especially like the use of recorders. Although an attractive ditty, it sounds like an affectionate parody ( a la Neil Innes / The Ruttles), like something aping an original style (like The Fourmyula’s 1968 opus ‘Alice Is There’ perhaps?) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dv11HWqu6k4

If You Love Somebody –
I like this a lot. It needs a little more structure possibly (a bridge perhaps or a key change, to give it a little twist). It’s making the right sound for my ears though, just needs some tweaking.

Many thanks for your opinions folks! :) I'm really flattered by the Rutles comparison actually as I think Neil Innes us a genius! I'm not actually on If You Love Somebody but I do like it!
