I should just say also, I didn't get these two comps mastered as I did for Pop Cycles. The songs come from disparate sources so the sound will be uneven. I think even now though, a lot of the selections have yet to see any commercial compilation in any kind of quality, so these comps still make for an interesting and I hope enjoyable listen, or at least good reference discs. Thanks to Mr One Shed as well.
And I can't help just reminding readers that the Alex Campbell take of 'Victoria Dines Alone' comes from the original 45 tht has all the added effects / sounds. The only extant version from source tapes by him is a straight copy of the Tom Paxton folkie version stripped of any of the added effects. Hence that is why it is absent from the RPM 'Swinging London' CD comp of some years back. I don't know if it's been commercially compiled since, but if not this is still the only comp it appears on!
Hi Philippe - could you email me instead as my antique PC just keeps giving me an outlook express start up wizard when I click 'email' on your post and I don't think I have your current email address saved.!
