Mandrake Memorial London Recordings

GREAT news,it looks like this fab groups London Recordings(for a proposed album) are being released at last on cd(never been released before on vinyl or cd as far as im aware),i am pretty excited about this as the other 3 albums are pretty inventive and are both psych and early progressive in their sound. These London Recordings are up for pre-order on Amazon UK,also Spin cds have it advertised as a pre-order plus some info about this release...so pop over to Spin to read more about them. All i want now is for Mortimers UK recordings made for a second album way back then, for Apple (i think)to be hoisted upon us....but hey thats maybe asking too much.......

Re: Mandrake Memorial London Recordings

I actually got round to exploring the sounds featured on this cd,first off i would like to mention the booklet, its good and informative with many photos but beware, get your magnifying glass out as it can be a strain to read. Now the music,to me it sounds like a cross between their second album "medium"and third album"Puzzle", sorta languid and druggy at times and a fair amount acoustic.I think its going to be a real grower of an album as on first (and quick) listen it didnt really catch my ear...but there is some real quality on this cd none the less.I'll be playing it more over the coming week,so i bloody hope it will catch my ear,i'm sure it will.By the way it's titled"3 Part Inventions",released by Richard Morton Jacks(who also does the liners) "Flashback"label. Can anyone tell me if theres going to be more "Flashback"magazines?Been a while since the last one.

Again another cd worth investigation!!
