Did a fair bit of acid an 'shrooms back in the day.
Can't add too much to mr perkins piece but would say that I find psychedelics to be unlike other substances in that there's not really the 'oblivion factor' with them. Most drugs give some instant pleasure and you can go on hammering em until you end up, well...hammered, I suppose. Not really what I would call an intoxicant as such, more of a journey of self discovery Acid gives a glimpse of out the box for a short while and can be very profound but for most people, doesn't turn into a habit.
You may realize that most of the world is half mad, but then we knew that anyway!

I also find as I get older I can't handle losing a few days after dallying with the booze so a good reefer and a few alcohol - free beers is my thing these days.
Unfortunately I do kick the arse out of it a bit.. ( stoner bas**rd lol! )
