Reading the Bare Sole thread I got to thinking- do you have a favourite lesser light uk psych band? By this I mean a band that say didn't have a record deal or maybe just did demmos, a band who had a private press lp or just gigged locally and a live half baked recording survives to be hyped as "unknown psych gem" and sold for the mortgage of a small house!
I'm enjoying Bodkin at the moment who I think fit well into this category. But who does it for you? Elder Kindred? Kimla Taz? Mr Reject???
Without going through my collection a couple that spring to mind are the Action-Rolled Gold album which were actually demos(high quality ones mind you)recorded in the hope of getting label interest. Also Captain Marryat-s/t 1974 album of which originally only about 100 albums were pressed.
I dig Captain Marryat Lp,I own a Shadoks reissue.
This lp will be reissued again but it will have a color cover photo of the band, earlier issues was black & white photo of the band.
Here is another album that will be reissued by Shadoks label in the summer for the 1st time on vinyl, original release was only on cassette tape back in the day.
I like this album it's pretty good.
Only a single unreleased track, so certainly lesser light, but what a track it is!

Great accompanying video. In fact HeavenlyBlueOrange does some excellent videos. Here's another by the U.S. band Public Nuisance who also had nothing released back in the day but should have, so fit the lesser light band category very well.
