Might be a daft question but were there any Irish Surf bands that anyone knows of..I checked the WWW but found nowt
Oh sheded one,
tis a bit complicted but in general the Irish music scene of the early/mid 60s was dominated by showbands who specialised in playing live covers of various genres - country/pop/folk/cabaret/surf etc. in dancehalls throughout the country. Some would be more pop, country or whatever but generally they were jack of all trades. Many musicians such as Rory Gallagher and Van Morrison started off in these bands.
Here's a good site
This site is more Irish prog and folk rock
hope that helps.
Was there actually any English or European surf music at all?
I'm assuming we're talking similar to Beach Boys?
