Clonakilty and Ireland in general are great for live music. De Barras has a plaque in the doorway saying that Noel Redding was a regular here.

It seems as though just about everyone in Ireland can play some sort of instrument. It seems a though just about every pub has live music. We were told that Dingle has more licensed premises per head of population than anywhere in Ireland, so besides music they also like to drink!

There seems to be an amazing abundance of pubs and clubs that play live music,especially traditional Irish folk. But De Barras has to be the place to visit if you're in County Cork or even South West Ireland.

My youngest son took me to Dublin for 4 days a few years back I absolutely loved the pubs and the music its a superb holiday destination one of my favourite ever trips

Hope to go to Dublin myself sometime but first of all, it has to be Clonakilty and West Cork generally. De Barras is a calling 😀

Well my wife has got into genealogy and apparently after tracing her relatives back a lot of them were born or worked here.
If you had one of those dinners where you could invite certain guests, Peter Gabriel would have been high on my list.
I was always a big Gabriel era Genesis fan.
