(Jimmeh is a Psych Masterman of longstanding - albiet not a member of the actual Psych Mafiosa. The implications of a Psych Masterman coming on board are simply too bountious to fathom.)
Wallace exaggerates greatly, but maybe I should introduce myself.
I have been collecting lps since the early/mid '80's.
I was never a "big" collector in the sense of shelling out huge sums of money for rare lps, and most of my lps in the early days I got through digging in the cheap bins.
What started me collecting was a remark by a friend sometime in the late '70's, that there must be all this great music from around the world that we never heard, and then buying the "The Acid Trip: A complete guide to psychedelic music" book by Vernon Joynson when it came out in 1984.
From there I followed the same path that was taken by many at the time - mail order lists from Funhouse, Sound Effects, Gregg/Veronica Breth, Walter Geertsen, Philippe Collignon and many more.
I have had the bug ever since.
I still find newer artists and bands that I like, such as "Still Corners" and "Kikagaku Moyo".
Remember those mail order lists very well Clashton. Always thought Funhouse had some great stuff, not that I could afford too much of it. I also remember Greg Van Dyke's lists, but also heard he was rather unpopular in collecting circles.
I started off by coming across a copy of the first Perfumed Garden album in a local record store. Liked the cover and then when I listened to the album I was hooked.
