Hi, I found a track Chicken Or Bored by Bean & Loopy on the net. Is it an unissued George Bean?
I'd say yes as I see the composing credits include Catchpole and they wrote together a few George Bean songs. Was the same (Tony) Catchpole future Alan Bown?
here they say yes:
Hi Gian, thanks for your response to my question about George Bean. Where did you find the composing credits for Chicken Or Bored? According to the Encyclopedia of British and Irish 60´s Rock and Pop, Another Taste Of Forbidden Fruit, Tony Catchpole was in George Bean´s group and in Alan Bown Set 1966-69.
Is Bean & Loopy's Lot the same Bean & Loopy you write about
They had a single out called Haywire in 1966 if you check Discogs they have a YT link for it
Yes I have all official recordings by George Bean/Looty´s Lot but I have never seen the track Chicken Or Bored in any discography or compilation. It´s a quite good tune not far away from The Easybeats. Thanks for your kind reply.
Found an mp3 too, good track yes, maybe an acetate? By the way there is a good website of George Bean's next band, Trifle, with lots of photos and even BBC recordings:
Where is this track located. I can't find anything on the internet with any combination of words that shows anything besides this post. Put it out there.
Hi, you can find it on Soulseek. Mod Meeting vol 7
Wonderful track! I've never seen this come up for sale and I'm pretty on top of my George Bean. I have more than a few rarities besides his official output. I've waited for a few tracks like this to leak for years. I wonder how long this release has been available? Thanks!
