Re: Three upcoming titles of interest on Cherry Red in September

Also a double cd edition of the debut trapeze album, which is a little mentioned album which is Shame as it's got many good songs on it, formed by members of the montanas and finders keepers, the debut was recorded in 69/70 and still has a slight 60s vibe, an extra cd with pre albums demos and recordings, I'm looking forward to hearing the extra cd of stuff, so 4 very interesting releases that should be of interest to 60s psych, pop and early stirrings of prog enthusiasts.

I agree, Stuart, that first Trapeze album is interesting and has some psych influence, and some progressive sound too. Certainly different from later Trapeze albums. I’ll have to keep an eye out for that CD edition.

Yeh I rate that debut 1969/70 album, this double cd has pre album recordings too and other rarities,I'm excited about that, can't wait to hear the pre album stuff, maybe more raw in sound, the debut seems to be a little mentioned in our circles, I don't know why as it has that sound,it's certainly a lost gem in their catalogue and a totally different beast to medusa the follow up album, though that in itself is a good album. Well worth investigation for everyone on here.

Well put, Stu. The later albums are good rock albums and I enjoy them for that, but the first has a bit of Audience or someone like Colin Giffin, existing on that line where psych was turning into something more progressive. I like the song “Over” and “Another Day” but it’s just an interesting little album that doesn’t get talked about much, as you say! I’ll be curious to hear these 2cd versions when they’re released.
