That’s sad news. There have been times when I considered “Dear Old Weatherman” my favorite pop-psych song, and maybe it still is. It’s definitely one of the best. I remember sending him an email telling him how great I thought his work is and he graciously responded. I’ll be playing some of the records he made or produced, that’s for sure.😞
Yes his production work was fantastic, he was a true studio whizz, listen to the recordings for the teenage opera that never came to fruition at the time, he worked with limited studio technology which at the time 8 track studios where the newest, but the layers of music he put together was immense for that period, his own fun side project the matchmakers were pretty good too, Sorta catchy at times bubblegumny late 60s pop music, there was a cd available of those recordings. So it's sad to see another person from the 60s pop world leave this planet, though he worked well into the 70s and 80s, im sure it will be his innovative studio work from the 60s most will remember him for. RIP X
