Tony The Tyger

Who was Tony The Tyger who compiled The Fuzz Flakes comps ? I can find nothing on WWW

Re: Tony The Tyger

He is or was a (60s specialist) DJ on the west coast of US somewhere I think. I had one or two email exchanges with a him back when his Fuzz, Flaykes & Shakes comps were originally out, in fact when they were still just CDR comps before the commercial vinlyl ones were out. Seemed like an enthusiastic and switched on guy from what I remember.

Thanks Paul I sort of thought you would know

Re: Tony The Tyger

Think you'll find that his name is Tony Sanchez and he was responsible for compiling the Fuzz, Flaykes and Shakes 60's garage comp series.

Re: Tony The Tyger

Thanks Whoppo the mystery is ended

Re: Tony The Tyger

All those Fuzz,Flaykes and Shakes comps are all available in one place as a clamshell box set that was released a few years ago,its excellent, good informative booklet, cracking sound and to my ears a wee improvement on some of the original comps, this box set and series contains some absolutely marvellous obscure records, from folk rock to garage to high flying psychedelia,Tony Sanchez must have some wild collection,as the majority of this i'd never heard of at that time. This box set is definitely highly recommended for anyone into mid to late 60s American sounds!!!
