Nathan Ford is a New Zealander who started "The Active Listener" blogsite back in 2011 with the aim of showcasing new psychedelic music from around the world. He put out a quantity of sampler compilations over the years... at least 45 to my knowledge and possibly more. The few I've listened to are exceptionally good, albeit not exclusively psychedelic. There is an interview with Nathan explaining all you need to know here:
Yes, I second the recommendation. It was a great site. If Doctor Gaz is not already familiar with it, he may want to check out these two comps for more candidates for his covers compilation series.
thanks Michael, my Active Listener bookmark was always checked on a weekly basis in anticipation. There's certainly plenty of lovely covers on those comps one originally recorded by the Eyes is a stand-out. For my comps I try to concentrate mostly on recently issued stuff but I will re-visit these and maybe pull out a couple of favourites. A little teaser clue for my next comp in 2022 the Grip Weeds have been busy!
As I suspected there were a few more titles.
