Obscure sixties soundtracks

Hi all,

I noticed that Record Collector mag have a small piece on Julie Driscol and Don Ellis's track- Moon, Zero, Two for an obscure Hammer Sci-fi film of the same name. I like the track - its very groovy and sixties. Unfortunately it only seems to have been released on CD.

So I was just wondering what film soundtracks are worth investigating. Looking through my collection I have- Loot, Privalage, More, Quadrophenia, Here we go round the Mulberry Bush and of course Easy Rider to name but a few. But are there more obscure tracks/soundtracks worthy of investigation? Any thoughts?

Re: Obscure sixties soundtracks

I am only referring to movie soundtracks here not library music as such- Sorry Stuart - I just saw your post.

Re: Obscure sixties soundtracks

I like the Groupie Girl soundtrack with the Virgin Stigmata and Opal Butterfly.

Re: Obscure sixties soundtracks

Or the Virgin Stigma? I am not sure of the band name…

Re: Obscure sixties soundtracks

Pass Of Arms E.P sung by Sandy Denny

Her greatest.

Re: Obscure sixties soundtracks

Probably not 60s and not that obscure:

BILLY GREEN -STONE
CANDY
THE LAST REBEL (with Joe Namath)
WONDERWALL
3 IN THE ATTIC
O LUCKY MAN! (can you think of a movie that starts with some straight 10 minutes of a band in studio? Alan Price (Animals)
HAMMERSMITH IS OUT!
SWEDISH FLY GIRLS
UP THE JUNCTION

Re: Obscure sixties soundtracks

The Committee [GB 1968], is pretty obscure and has an interesting soundtrack - not sure it was ever released on vinyl.

Re: Obscure sixties soundtracks

It was released on vinyl, but not officially I think…

Re: Obscure sixties soundtracks
