Here's a heads-up regarding a new 400 page encyclopedia of French progressive music being sold via the Ultima Thule website. It follows in the tradition of books like "Fuzz, Acid & Flowers", "Dreams, Fantasies & Nightmares" etc. If you're quick you can still qualify for the pre-order bonus which includes:
French scrapbook pdf - compiled from Audion issues 1-58
10 hours of Audion music selections - including some rare exclusives
over 5 hours of interview recordings - full recordings of four interviews
and 90 minutes of video samples.

Yes i received this a couple of weeks ago,its the same authors who did" A Crack In The Cosmic Egg"&"A Fistful Of Spaghetti"covering the German and Italian music scenes of the more experimental, electronic, progressive, avantgarde, psychedelic, library albums mainly, but also covers things like the record labels & the producers for instance.
"Twilight Of The Alchemists"is a very worthy addition for £35 to the other 2 books mentioned,i've found it very good, many bands, artists & albums i've never heard of,and the timing was perfect as i have been going through a French music phase the last 6 months or so,including many late 60s/early 70s albums including adventurous pop,as well as psychedelia, garage and progressive sounds from France,as i find that many French artists albums from this period are excellent and indeed have their own unique studio sound, but bloody hell theres loads that have NEVER had a cd or indeed vinyl reissue, though i have picked up quite a few on cd,plus ive picked up French compilatons like the 4 volumes of Wizz, but also a few French Library compilations too which are terrific!!
So "Twilight Of The Alchemists"book is right up my street, great stuff!!
