Turn to Revelation 16:5-16


5 Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say:
“You are just in these judgments, O Holy One,
    you who are and who were;
6 for they have shed the blood of your holy people and your prophets,
    and you have given them blood to drink as they deserve.”
7 And I heard the altar respond:
“Yes, Lord God Almighty,
    true and just are your judgments.”
8 The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was allowed to scorch people with fire. 9 They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.
10 The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in agony 11 and cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but they refused to repent of what they had done.
12 The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East. 13 Then I saw three impure spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 They are demonic spirits that perform signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty.
15 “Look, I come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake and remains clothed, so as not to go naked and be shamefully exposed.”
16 Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.

In this lesson, we will finish about the third vial or bowl, then discuss the fourth, fifth, and sixth bowls or vials.

In verses 5-6, an angel that was over the waters that seen the waters plagued with blood in verse 4 gave praise to God in verses 5-6 and in verse 7 the people of the altar gave praise to God, by honoring the Lord Jesus Christ, as we finish about the third vial or bowl.

In verse 8, the fourth vial or bowl was poured on the sun. It was so hot on the Earth that it burned people with fire. In verse 9, people continued to curse God and the Lord that was in charge of the plagues on the Earth. The people did not repent of the cursings they made to God or glorify Him.

In verse 10, the fifth vial or bowl was poured on the throne of the beast. It caused the throne be filled with the plague of darkness and people gnawed on their tongues in pain. However, they continue to curse God in verse 11 for their pains and sores and did not repent of the cursing of God.

In verse 12, the sixth vial was poured into the Euphrates river and the waters dried the entire river up and prepare the way of the kings of the East, which is Russia, Japan,and China for some of the countries represented today. In verse 13, frogs spued out of the beast, false prophet, and the dragon (Satan). In verse 14, spirits of demonic power was used to perform signs and wonders to the kings to gather for the battle of the great day with God, which is Armageddon that is revealed in verse 16. In verse 15, the Lord will appear as a thief, the ones who did not accept the mark of the beast, and stays on watch will keep his clothes and not be exposed naked to bear the shame of themselves by being part of the world that accepted the mark of the beast as the kings prepare to meet at the battle of Armageddon.

Next week we will discuss the seventh vial or bowl as we finish chapter 16.
