Ponderings from our very own Dr. Diana Brevan for today

Dear Partners World Wide, I bring to you my (Dr. Diana Brevan) ponderings this today. May the Lord richly bless you and yours as we go right into to today’s ponderings prayer and the Word.
ONE ACCORD 8-22-14
Acts 1:14 (NKJV) These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.
Acts 2:1 (NKJV) When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Acts 2:46 (NKJV) So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart...
This term One Accord is found over and over in the book of Acts and goes to show us why they had such power in their lives and ministries. The term One Accord means to be of one heart, one mind, and one aim, to have the same purpose in what we are doing. Now this doesn’t mean that when they were praying together every one of them said the exact same thing. No, it means they had the same vision and drive, and that was to seek God to find what He wanted them to do. Because of that the early church had amazing miracles happening in their midst.
We need to do the same. At our prayer meetings and at our church services, when we get a heart for God and are willing to set aside our agenda and do His will, LOOK OUT, we’re going to see amazing things also.
God is looking to move in our land and reveal Himself as the One true God, but as long as we, His people, are fighting and complaining, He will hold back His arm of power. However, like we said already, we can change and make a difference in our generation. We can walk in the commandment of love and go the extra mile. I want to leave this earth with no regrets and the way I believe I can do this is by living in His Word. As we put ourselves to the side and think of the needs of others we will be like the early church that stayed in prayer until they were filled with the Holy Spirit so that they could go forth and do mighty things in His Name. Today, let’s do it. Let’s walk in love and try to be people of the Word.
CONFESSION: I choose today to be a person that wants to unite people and not divide people. I want to live my life with no regrets. I want to do what the Father has asked me to do.

THE POWER OF UNITY 8-23-14

2 Chronicles 5:13-14 (NKJV) indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying: "For He is good, For His mercy endures forever," that the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud, 14 so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.
What a scene this must have been, everybody praising God with one voice and one heart and then the Glory of the Lord filled the temple and the priests could not even stand up because of the cloud that filled the house of the Lord. I don’t know about you but I want to see this again in my lifetime and I believe that we can if we would get ourselves into unity.
Unity doesn’t mean that we’ll be doing the exact same thing. No, God has made us all different and given to us different gifts, talents and abilities. Unity is when we can take these God given gifts and work together to get the work of the kingdom done. When we stop fighting each other and start working for the kingdom we will see so much change in our lives. We will see so many people come into the Kingdom of God. But as long as we fight and back bite each other, it’s going to be slow going.
God is not hindering His power from going forth in this world, we are. As long as we’re going to fight and not do it the Bible way, then we will hinder the things of God from happening in our generation. But we can change. We must change. We need to say that it is more important to do the will of the Father then our own will. We need to submit ourselves to Him and watch and see what He will do in our land and our world.
So make that decision today. Tell the Father that it is your heart’s desire for Him to be glorified. That you want to see the body of Christ as truly, the light of the world.
CONFESSION: I choose today to walk in love. To be a person that walks in unity. To be one who wants the best for the kingdom of God.
