Dear Partners World Wide, I bring to you my (Dr. Diana Brevan) ponderings this today. May the Lord richly bless you and yours as we go right into to today’s ponderings prayer and the Word.


THE FAITH OF ABRAHAM
Romans 4:17-22 (NKJV) (as it is written, "I have made you a father of many nations") in the presence of Him whom he believed--God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; 18 who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, "So shall your descendants be." 19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah's womb. 20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22 And therefore "it was accounted to him for righteousness."
When God spoke to Abraham and told him that he would be a father of a multitude, Abraham did something. You can find what he did in these verses. We see that Abraham had to make some decisions in his life because he was a hundred years old and Sarah’s womb could not have babies when she was at the childbearing age, much less now when she was old. So what did Abraham do? If we will do what he did we will see results in our lives also.
First we see that he didn’t look to his own flesh but he looked to the promise of God. What was that promise? That he and his wife would have a child. So we see that strong faith is believing what God has said and not what the circumstances says. It’s saying, “Let God be true and everything else a lie”. We’re not saying here that we’re to deny the reality but there are times that we need to hold on to the promise of God and not waver.
Abraham also gave God all the glory. In other words, he took what God had promised him and started praising God for the answer even before he saw the expanding belly of his wife. Faith has eyes and ears of its own. Faith says, I believe God over any contrary situation. So today, what is the promise that God has for you? Find it in His Word and then don’t look back. Watch and see God, your loving Father, come through for you again.
CONFESSION: I trust God’s Word over what I see or feel. My Bible says to walk by faith and not by sight. I chose to do it His way and see great results.
