Good Morning
The Lord will work out his plans for my life
Psalm 138
1 I give you thanks, O Lord, with all my heart; I will sing your praises before the gods.
2 I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I will give thanks to your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness, because your promises are backed by all the honor of your name.
3 When I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me the strength I need.
4 Every king in all the earth will give you thanks, O Lord, for all of them will hear your words.
5 Yes, they will sing about the Lord’s ways, for the glory of the Lord is very great.
6 Though the Lord is great, he cares for the humble, but he keeps his distance from the proud.
7 Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will preserve me against the anger of my enemies. You will clench your fist against my angry enemies! Your power will save me.
8 The Lord will work out his plans for my life for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.

Every person makes plans and has dreams for their future. Then they work hard to see that they come true. But God has already charted a plan for each and everyone of us. And He will work out His plans for us. This doesn’t mean there is only one path that we can and should follow. God has directions for us no matter which way we turn. So if one path does not work out the way we thought it should, God has another direction to take us. And God knew which way we are going to turn before we were even born. Proverbs 16:9 tells us, “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” We are not to be passive and just sit back and say, “Well, God already has a plan, so I should just not make any.” No, we are to trust in the Lord and when we make our plans, they are to be surrounded by prayer and direction according to His Word. This is where we find our plan. The Word tells us not to be unequally yoke in marriage to a nonbeliever. So when looking for a person to marry, you look only at those who are in Christ. Other issues need more reading of the Word and prayer. But the bottom line is we are to make plans surrounded by the direction of the Word and talking it over with our Father. Doing this, we can know that He will lead us into the plan He has ordained for us.
