Good Morning,

He purchased our freedom through the blood of His Son.

Acts 16:22-34

22 A mob quickly formed against Paul and Silas, and the city officials ordered them stripped and beaten with wooden rods. 23 They were severely beaten, and then they were thrown into prison. The jailer was ordered to make sure they didn’t escape. 24 So he took no chances but put them into the inner dungeon and clamped their feet in the stocks. 25 Around midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. 26 Suddenly, there was a great earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off! 27 The jailer woke up to see the prison doors wide open. He assumed the prisoners had escaped, so he drew his sword to kill himself. 28 But Paul shouted to him, “Don’t do it! We are all here!” 29 Trembling with fear, the jailer called for lights and ran to the dungeon and fell down before Paul and Silas. 30 He brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 They replied, “Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with your entire household.” 32 Then they shared the word of the Lord with him and all who lived in his household. 33 That same hour the jailer washed their wounds, and he and everyone in his household were immediately baptized. 34 Then he brought them into his house and set a meal before them. He and his entire household rejoiced because they all believed in God.

Paul and Silas were beaten and put in prison for preaching salvation through Jesus Christ and yet they could sing praises to their God. God worked a miracle and their chains fell off and the jailer and his family were saved. Do you feel like Paul; are you in a dark place today? If you need the power of God to come into your mind to release the chains that bind, sing out in praise to Him. Not because of the difficulty you are in, not because life is hard, but because He is still the God of the universe and He loves and cares for you. It is not about you, it is always about Him. As long as we live in this world, there will be problems and difficulties, always, but we know that our hope lies with Him and in Him and we look beyond our problems and look to Him for our peace. Ephesians 1:6-8 tells us, “So we praise God for the wonderful kindness He has poured out on us because we belong to His dearly loved Son. He is so rich in kindness that He purchased our freedom through the blood of His Son, and our sins are forgiven. He has showered His kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.” Keep your focus on Him and He will see you through any difficulty that comes your way. Praise Him!
