God’s love is what will get us through the tough times.
Ephesians 3:14-21

14 When I think of the wisdom and scope of God’s plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, 15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. 16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit. 17 And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God. 20 Now glory be to God! By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope. 21 May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages. Amen.

One of the greatest weapons Satan brings against Christians is discouragement. There is so much pain and suffering in this world, we all wonder when it will end. Sometimes the cares and problems of this life can be so overwhelming that we lose track of who we are or better yet who we belong to. Discouragement is a normal response to pain in our lives but it can also be a tool for Satan to pull us away from God. When we are hit hard with pain in this life, we become physically drained. Emotionally we are on edge at all times. It is like our nerves are exposed on the surface and even the smallest task can set us off into a fit of anger. Mentally we forget what God has brought us through and the prayers He has answered. Spiritually we lose intimacy with the One who loves us the most. God is the One who knows every detail about us and yet still loves us with a love that we can not comprehend. Paul is writing to let us all know that unless we are rooted in God’s love we will be tossed around by the pain of this life and forget how much God loves us. God’s love is what will get us through the tough times. If we are rooted and grounded in the Word of God and God’s people, there will be nothing that will ever be able to separate us from the love of God. We have His Word!
