Turn to Proverbs 15:26-33
26 The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.
27 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.
28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wick-ed poureth out evil things.
29 The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the right-eous.
30 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.
31 The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.
32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.
33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
The thoughts of wicked people are not good, but the thoughts of the right people are good. A person that is covetous will cause problems in the home, but a person that is satisfied with what they have will live longer. A person’s heart that is right studies to find answers, but the wicked speak evil. The Lord does not dwell close to the lost, but he hears the prayer of a saint. The light of your eyes can make you have a happy heart and strong bones. The ear that hears correction abides among the wise man. A person that refuses instruction hurts his soul, while one that loves instructions learn from their mistakes. The Lord’s fear helps a person attain wisdom and before you get honor a wise person learn how to be humble.
