Psalm 140
King James Version
140 Deliver me, O Lord, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;
2 Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.
3 They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.
4 Keep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
5 The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.
6 I said unto the Lord, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord.
7 O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.
8 Grant not, O Lord, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.
9 As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
10 Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.
11 Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.
12 I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.
13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

140 Al músico principal. Salmo de David.Líbrame, oh SEÑOR, del hombre malo;
guárdame del hombre violento.
2 Ellos maquinan males en su corazón,
y cada día entablan contiendas.
3 Agudizan su lengua como una serpiente; veneno de víbora hay debajo de sus labios.
Selah
4 Guárdame, oh SEÑOR, de manos del impío;
protégeme del hombre violento,
quienes han planeado trastornar mis pasos.
5 Los arrogantes me han escondido trampa y cuerdas;
han tendido red junto a la senda
y me han puesto lazos. Selah
6 Dije al SEÑOR: “¡Tú eres mi Dios!”. Escucha, oh SEÑOR, la voz de mis ruegos.
7 Oh Dios, oh SEÑOR , fortaleza
de mi salvación,
tú cubres mi cabeza en el día
de la batalla.
8 Oh SEÑOR, no concedas al impío sus deseos;
ni saques adelante sus planes,
no sea que se enorgullezca. Selah
9 En cuanto a los que me rodean,
la maldad de sus propios labios les cubrirá su cabeza.
10 Sobre ellos caerán brasas ardientes. Dios les hará caer en el fuego,
en profundos hoyos de donde no podrán salir.
11 El hombre suelto de lengua no será firme en la tierra;
al hombre violento el mal le perseguirá a empujones.
12 Yo sé que el SEÑOR amparará la causa del pobre
y el derecho de los necesitados.
13 Ciertamente los justos darán gracias
a tu nombre;
los rectos morarán en tu presencia.
