Turn to JerJeremiah 6:10-15

King James Version

10 To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the Lord is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.

11 Therefore I am full of the fury of the Lord; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.

12 And their houses shall be turned unto others, with their fields and wives together: for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, saith the Lord.

13 For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.

14 They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the Lord.

In today’s lesson, Jeremiah is referencing himself as he speaks that he is giving a warning for the entire country of Israel to hear him, but they are dull of hearing and can’t hear and listen what he has to say to them, in this case it is a warning of God’s judgment. The word of God is a reproach, and does not give them any joy anymore to hear or read it.

Due to that, the Lord is in a rage and is growing tired of holding the word in place for the Jews, but he is going to pour out the word to the Gentiles and especially to the young men and the husbands and wives and the elderly of foreign lands would hear the word and the Jews revolted when in Acts that the Gentiles received the word of God that they refused and thank God that the apostle Paul went to the Gentiles and preached the word to them or we would not have a bible in our hands today.

Their houses and fields are going to be taken over by other people and their wives will remarry to other men and the Lord will stretch his hand over the Jews. From the least to the greatest of them are of guilty of covetousness, which is the tenth commandment (Exodus 20:17). The prophets are teaching lies and false doctrine like in many churches today, but it happened in the era of Jeremiah as well. They proclaim they have healed the Jews, however there is no peace available in the days of Jeremiah or today until Jesus returns in the end of time. Then Jeremiah asks the Jews are they ashamed of the sins that caused abomination in the sight of God, the answer is no they are not ashamed and they would not even blush. Due to that, they will fall when the judgment and they will be cast into Hell for their unbelief to the Messiah at the end of time.
